You've probably been playing games like Madden 08, NBA 2K8, and BioShock, for the last several months. Well just in case you've grown bored of ‘07's crop, [Si] Entertainment gathers a wish list sure to fill Santa's sack. Pac Man isn't the only game in town anymore.

Mass Appeal: Story-wise, Mass Effect is probably the best game of the year. It has the major blockbuster Hollywood movie-type of energy with a "choose-your-path" style of storytelling. You're the star in this sci-fi epic and your mission is to save the universe. Usually that's no small feat, but thanks to a battle system that features everything from ferocious firepower to telekinetic abilities, allowing you to lift and throw enemies with your mind, it's a virtual cakewalk. Check out our review. (Only on Xbox 360)

One Man Band: Just like Madden, Guitar Hero has become a premier video game franchise. So with Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock everything has been upgraded, starting with a who's who list of classic songs from Aerosmith, Metallica, Santana, Slayer and Iron Maiden. One of the greatest things about GH3 is the ability to battle real-life guitar heroes Slash (Guns N' Roses) and Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine) plus battle online or your friends next to you. Check out our review. (Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, and Wii)

Rock Stars: Now if you're tired of just being a guitar hero and want to expand your repertoire to drum ‘n bass, then Rock Band is for you. From the developers of the first Guitar Hero title comes a music rhythm game that features the entire entourage. No more solo sets, RB is a team effort. Two to four people can play the game and you can travel through the career mode together as a virtual rock band. (Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, and Wii)

In Times Of War: The Call of Duty series has been one of the best and most consistent first-person shooter war franchises. With the first three games taking place during World War II, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare brings you to the present. The game places you smack dab in the Middle East as you battle insurgents in attempts to secure the country's freedom. With a wide array of missions and an addictive online component, Call of Duty 4 will keep you busy for hours on end. (Xbox 360, Playstation 3)

Star Wars: Mario has been a video game staple for almost 20 years and Nintendo has been riding him like a working mule for just as long. But with Super Mario Galaxy, Nintendo may have created the best Mario game ever. Think the O.G. Super Mario Bros., but with a 3D futuristic, sci-fi, space adventure twist. Plus along with the running, jumping and flipping, you float, glide, swing and fly all in the middle of zero gravity space and a plethora of planets. Alongside titles like Wii Sports and Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy is a strong contender for best game on this Christmas' hottest console. (Only on Nintendo Wii)

The Killer: If you're looking for something a little different, Assassin's Creed may be right up your alley. What sets AC apart is its scenery. The story takes place in the Holy Land during the 12th Century. You play as an assassin who's after nine different targets located in Jerusalem, Damascus and Acre, with just a blade and your stealth skills as your only weapons. The story is intriguing, the graphics are amazing, and the game play is innovative. (Xbox 360, PS3, Nintendo DS).

Stick To Ya Guns: If you're sick of looking at Mario, but still like playing the run, jump, and flip type of games, Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction is one game that you definitely need to check out. You not only get go in with guns blazing on anyone in your path, it's the best looking game on the Playstation 3. The environments are vast and colorful and the animations look just as good as animated movies like Finding Nemo or The Incredibles. This isn't one to pass up. (Only on Playstation 3)

Sci-Fi Fun: The Unreal Tournament series pretty much has had a dedicated cult following for the last seven or eight years on the PC. But this winter, Unreal Tournament III is trying to attract a new crowd by adding an in-depth story, innovative graphics and making it available on the Playstation 3. This first person shooter is a must have for any sci-fi fan and PS3 owner. Check out our preview. (Only on Playstation 3)
