Jean: ‘Caribbean Girl' Dating Tips
Posted on: Tue, 09/02/2008 - 3:14pm
Jean doesn't have any trouble getting dates. Aside from being easy on the ladies' eyes (it runs in his genes check his brother, Luis) he's also got a killer falsetto. To make him even more irresistible to his female fans the R&B crooner remixed Estelle's popular "American Boy" and created "Caribbean Girl." His remix is burning up radio stations and MySpace pages alike. "I heard Estelle's ["American Boy"] a while back before it blew up here," says Jean. "I had the instrumental just sitting in my iTunes. Next thing you know it started to take off. [So] I went ahead and did the remix and the feedback is great." In between putting the finishing touches on his upcoming album, Out the Box, Jean tells SiTV.com how you too can enjoy the silky skin of a Caribbean girl or two.
Be Original:
"Definitely be yourself; be honest. This day in age it's about being simple and being straight up with the opposite sex."
SiTV.com says: Honesty works in the beginning but little white lies get you through a relationship.
GQ Style:
"You have to get the outfit right. Also, that first line to break the ice has to be on point."
SiTV.com says: By style we mean a blazer and/or a buttoned down shirt not your cleanest white tee.
Dancing Machine:
"You have to get your dancing game straight. To pick up a Caribbean girl you have to dance some salsa. At least get two steps down, a spin ... that's what I do."
SiTV.com says: Perfect your salsa steps because knowing how to do el perrero will only land you well, a perra.
Love Songs:
"It helps if you sing a little bit in the ear. It's helped me on occasion here and there. I don't know if it will work for other people but it helps me out a little bit (laughs)."
SiTV.com says: Jean doesn't play fair.
Real Simple:
"I stick to the simple plans so I start out with a [Latin] dinner and a movie. I'm a respectful dude when it comes to the ladies. I'll be as gentlemanly as I can until I see the signs and then (laughs). When I see the signs I can cross the lines (laughs)!"
SiTV.com says: Rice and beans are a welcome sight to any Caribbean girl. Just make sure they're gandules because you don't want to accidentally hear her dinner.
