I was so pleased to hear the news that Senator Barack Obama is that much closer to winning the presidential election. But the bigger news is why so many Latinos who voted for Hillary Clinton may be swayed towards McCain instead of Obama. This is astounding to me seeing as though Barack understands our struggle as a people. He knows what its like, personally, to watch a family member go through health problems without insurance. He comes from a background of a single-parent home. He didn't grow up with a silver spoon in his mouth. He wants to bring our soliders home! So why then is it a challenge to get a large number of Latinos to believe in his message of change.

At first this troubling truth made me think of the divide we often find between Latinos and Blacks and I was beyond disappointed. Could this be the reason Latinos don't want to vote for Barack? Would this be a reason to put someone in office that has extremely similar ideologies to our current president? I know that I am on a personal journey to speak up about Barack Obama to everyone that will listen soooo....LISTEN UP!

McCain does not have the best intentions for our people. Because of his military background he isn't as interested in shutting down this ridiculous war, which is essentially causing a lot of our economic woes. Therefore causing the unemployment rates to continue to rise at the fastest rates in two decades. And who do you think is affected the most? Blacks and Hispanics.

I know that as a citizen of this country I am ready for change. The kind of change that I sincerely believe Barack Obama can bring. Essentially the news stories I've read have indicated that Latinos aren't familiar enough with Barack Obama's name to vote for him. One quick google search could change all of that.

Four years ago the WRONG man was put into office and took a good economy and screwed it up. 9/11 happened shortly after Bush became president. And if you forgot, he was golfing at the time!

Do we want to see a repeat performance? I know I don't.

So if you are a Latino reading this who didn't think you would vote for Barack simply off the strength that you don't know him as well as Hillary, do your research! This country will thank you for it!!!
