Have You Met...

Do I love LA?

And HOW! Even the smog made me smile.

We've been on tour most of this year so far. We left toward the end of March and have gone around and around the US stopping back here a couple times... I mean totaled up, less than a month's worth of time home!

None of us are LA natives... Luis was born in Ecuador and grew up in Florida, me too, and Chris grew up in Michigan and lived in Colorado before moving to LA. We all met here, google or wikipedia for more. Teeehee.

So yeah, we get home and the first thing we have to do is drop off all the gear in East LA at our studio. The next thing is GET BURRITOS! And I guess I should explain a little something about us... on tour, we eat at least 1 burrito a day. There are a number of reasons for this. Mainly, burritos are cheap, fast and I don't eat meat so burger joints are not so cool. Now this could be a real adventure if we were touring just to find great burritos but usually we have to stick to the fast food version of our favorite meal. So, now that we're back in LA... it's a little hard to decide where to go first. After months of sub par burritos across America where to first? And in the middle of the night? Our choices were King Taco (near the studio) or El Gran Burrito (near home). El Gran Burrito won! Ohhh the red sauce, salsa bar, carrots and onions, crumbly cheese! If you live in LA and haven't tried it GO! You'll find this beautiful little place at the northwest corner of Vermont and Santa Monica. It's open 24 hours a day and it's super cheap. If tomorrow wasn't American gorge fest day I might have gone to King Taco. Or Little Ethiopia.

Food aside... I love this place. It's really home now. For the next month and a half we'll pretty much be here. We have a show in Vegas and one in Tempe, AZ and a few radio station holiday shows in Ohio but other than that we're heeeeerrreee! We're playing a show at El Cid on December 5th and ohhhh it will be AWESOME. Kind of a homecoming parteeee if you will. In between we'll be writing new songs, making new videos, jogging through MacArthur Park and eating some REAL food.

Oh LA it's so nice to be back!

Have to concur on the LA love. I've lived here my whole life and from what I hear from the East Coasters, Winters are BRUTAL in the other parts of the country. So now is definitely the right time to be home. Where else can you wear shorts and a T-shirt in December!

Always nice to be home! Enjoy the time... and especialy each memory you make while home so that you can draw on those when you miss that place (LA) you call home...

Enjoy the Holidays!

Peace & Love, Ivan

P.S. Next time I'm in LA I'll go looking for El Gran Burrito!
