Taino Vs Latino

I ask all my " Latino" friends this question I ask you, "Why do you call yourself "Latino"........... And they asked me, why do I call myself Latino, And in response I simply say I don't call myself Latino, that's what America calls me, I am West Indian, from the Island of Kiskeya, my people discovered Columbus who was Latino, my people saved him and in return my people where massacred, the rest were enslaved, and demoralized by the same Latinos, I don't call myself a Latino, yo soy Caribeño de la Isla ma bella del mundo, Kiskeya!

On December 5 or 6 1492 a fateful wind led Christopher Columbus to the island of Kiskeya that he renamed Española
thinking that it looked like Spain. Guacanagaric, the cacique of the Marien in the northern part of the island, warmly welcomed
Columbus. He thought the Taino looked coward and could easily be defeated and enslaved:
