Have You Met...

I'm So Hood...

I'm soo hood that I can actually admit that I love... The Breakfast Club!

That's right. Not only was I a fan of the movie when I was only 5 years old, but even then I was aware of how smashable Molly Ringwald was. And I was only 5. I didn't even know what to do with my pee-pee, but I knew I wanted her involved with it somehow. Ok, that might've been TMI. But i'm just keeping ish real, na'mean. Ever since then i've had a thing for redheaded women, but they tend to date blondes. Go figure.

Anyway, last night I happened to click on one of the Encore channels right when this movie was beginning and I didn't switch to another channel once! I was glued to my TV. Aside from 5 very entertaining and very talented actors, what really makes this movie timeless is that fact that it can appeal to any generation. Past and present.

Even though this movie was in all actuality a comedy jumpoff, it should also be recognized as movie that has more jewels than all of G-Unit combined. The script and dialogue are more true to teenage feelings than anything Diablo Cody can muster (I LOVED Juno, tho).

It absolutely nailed the emotional state of adolescents during their high school years. Some have no minds of their own (Emilio Estevez). Others have the world sugar coated (Molly "The Dolly" Ringwald). Few are out casted for not being "cool" (Anthony Hall & Ally Sheedy). And most are just given up on and left to fend for themselves (Judd Nelson).

The only thing that bugged me out while I was watching the movie was, If Judd Nelson was such a badass, why in the hell did the man actually show up for weekend detention? From the look of things he sure as hell wasn't going to graduate. Why give up a perfectly good Saturday? He did bag Molly Ringwald and got a diamond earring from the redheaded devil, but still.

And i'm not even gonna front, that "Don't you forget about meee..." song still gets me open 23 years later. I hope Michael John chokes on a d*ck (which he prolly already does) for ruining the Simple Minds classic with his punk ass rendition. That's all I have to say about this movie.

And btw, Ally Sheedy coulda got it too. Dandruff and all.
