Thoughts on... The Wire... Yes. Still.

Ok, so i've watched the final episode of The Wire for like... well, damn near every time they rerun it on the different HBO channels. Even once on On Demand.
It just blew my mind how good it was. I mean the series finales to Sienfeld, Oz and The Sopranos really sucked. So when a final jumpoff as good as this one comes along I can't help but watch it over and over and over until it sinks in that it's a wrap. Sort of how I watched Superbowl 42 over and over and over and i'm actually watching it as i'm writing this.
Anyway, here are some things that came to my mind while watching the classic finale:
1. McNulty truly was natural poooh-leeece. If I ever fall back into the life I used to lead, Detective McNulty would be the LAST man I'd want tracking my criminal activities. Well... him and Batman.
2. Kima can still get it.
3. Obviously Michael has gone on to become the new Omar. A gun crazed nomad. Now if he's gay, I can't say, but his co-d looked a little suspect.
4. Bubbles has finally kicked his habit and refined himself. Something Bobby Brown, Amy Winehouse, Britney Spears, Lil Wayne, and Paris Hilton may never do.
5. On the other hand Duquan has taken the spot that Bubbles left vacant and is now addicted to that mantequilla. Just another example of potential lost in a environment that mainly nurtures hunger and anger. Kind of like The Biggest Loser except the winners gain weight, not lose it.
6. The white man is the devil... and he eats at Arbey's.
7. You can take the boy out the hood but you can't take the hood at the boy. Just ask Marlo. He got a clean slate with ALL his money, but still his urge to keep dirt on his cleats got the best of him. A true gangsta/idiot.
8. It doesn't pay to be someone's muscle. Just ask Webey and Chris. It was a dope scene watching them link up in the yard.
9. Once an urban legend always an urban legend. R.I.P. Omar.
10. The world doesn't stop revolving even if you do. Someone will come and take your orbit and keep the balance going. Regardless to whom or what the universe WILL balance itself out.
