Allow me to take a second and introduce myself. For those that don't know my name is Nikki Lopez. I was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, raised in Daytona Beach Florida, I'm going to school just 15 mins outside of Philadelphia, and currently for the past two summers have resided in North Bergen New Jersey. So big up to the 787, 386, 215 and 201 area codes.

I'm a student, poet, emcee and dj.

You can say I have slowly made my way up the east coast of the U.S, and if I continue to be blessed with success we'll see what other area codes I'll be adding to the list.

This time last year I found myself in the same position as I am now, sitting on my but in my brother's living room, waking up at 8 am to let the dogs outside to pee, to only go back to bed to wake up again at 11. All living free of rent. And living just 15 mins outside of the great city of NYC. Some would ask why I am complaining? Given the nature that my semesters at Bryn Mawr College are hectic enough, it's beneficial for my mental, physical and emotional health to have a break. However I am one who strives on being a productive human being. And while I may enjoy these carefree summers, sitting on my booty isn't quite conducive to a "productive" summer.

Plus how else do I explain that 90% of the times I am sitting, lap top in front of me, notebooks on the sides, papers sprawled everywhere, that I am actually writing, constantly trying to work up the creative juices and write new poems,new songs and whatever streams of consciouness dance across the page. Believe me, that ish takes time. But no... I instead look like another lazy college student.

And while I have enjoyed spending hours playing Grand Theft Auto, enough is enough. I Nikki Lopez, officially become a member of the world of internet blogging. Only question left is: are you ready for whats in store? :)
