Leave it to NYU to bring together the dopest batch of mc’s and producers in one sitting. Last night was the 10th Anniversary Edition of the Halftime Show on WNYU and to help set if of were an entourage of the hip hop elite including MY all time favorite producer DJ Premier. I believe he is the only person I’ve been starstruck by in a long, long time. The concept was so amazingly simple yet genius, get together some producers to spin and mc’s to spit. Brilliant! I believe hip hop was resurrected last night for a lot of people, at least it was for me.

Joell Ortiz, Juggaknots, Craig G, Big Noyd, Masta Ace, Torae, Pacewon, Juganot, Blaq Poet,Roc, Marciano, Supastition, Diabolic

Producers in the house: The Alchemist, Premier, The Beatminerz and Marco Polo

The award for person with most starstruck capability for me was a three way tie between Preemo, Alchemist and Masta Ace.

Look out for Chemical Warfare, the new Alchemist album due out this summer. Termanology is finally signed, to who we can’t say just yet. Stay tuned for our exclusive interview with him later this month…. And last but so not least, cop the Joel Ortiz mixtape Free Agent when it drops April 15th…
