Why is it that the Grammys only seems to recognize mainstream artists. Do you know how many truly great albums of 2007 got overlooked?!
Allow me to run by you the contenders for this year's Best Album...
Amy Winehouse - Back to Black (O-K album, but c'mon no way is it even close to being 2007's best album. Are we honoring this because of substance or celebrity?)
Kanye West - Graduation (Probably the best of the bunch, but not as good as his last few efforts)
Foo Fighters - Echoes, Silence, Patience, and Grace (Alright, I actually haven't heard this album, but why do I get the feeling that everyone on the Grammy board that selected this contender is age 40 years and up)
Vince Gill - These Days (Country crap - 'nuff said)
Herbie Hancock - The River (The sympathy nominee, obviously these guys feel pretty guilty for forgetting "Headhunters" all those years back, so now they want to honor one of his more mediocre efforts)
C'mon Grammys, get a clue. How about nominating artists that aren't on mainstream labels or going on stadium tours sponsored by Coca-Cola and giving us some REAL contenders?!!
