Mi Gente,

I recently had the honor of celebrating my dear friend Chana's album release here in Los Angeles. Her independently released digital EP "Manos Arriba" is gaining tremendous buzz. The event was held at Downtown L.A.'s Bordello Bar. The spot had a real seductive atmosphere that was perfect for the night's seducing sounds.

My boy Juan Barajas and Rado (not pictured) came out to join in on the festivities. I'm actually featured on Chana's album. The song is called "The Whistler". It happened very spontaneously, we have a mutual friend, Martin Chan from Volumen Cero, who brought up the idea of collaborating. I showed up at the studio, they played me the song, I loved it. I wrote and recorded it on the spot.

At the height of the night's frenzy, Chana took the stage and lit it up. Her mix of alternative, ska, electro-funk, there's really no way to really describe it music, had everyone vibing. She actually calls it trop-electro-hip-pop. I couldn't have said it better myself. It was definitely an experience.

Along with her band led by Martin Chan of Volumen Cero, Chana had special musical guest, the horn section from another group that's gaining crazy buzz, Upground. These kids are the real deal. Their live shows are insane! Back to my girl Chana, she did one of my favorites, "No Me Mandes Flores". The whole EP is dope so make sure you support.

Of course another strong contender for my favorite Chana song is our collabo, "The Whistler". It's about the eternal cat and mouse game between the genders. We definitely gave it a flirty, comical vibe. The energy was incredible. I usually perform with a DJ but I definitely want to add a band now. It was an adrenaline rush and lots of fun! Don't forget to support my girl Chana. The EP "Manos Arriba" is now available on iTunes.
