barack the vote (part 2)

In the name of the Majestic.

peace.

Im still gone off this whole thing. Obama took S.C. and the speech was amazing. The feeling was amazing. The diversity of his supporters was amazing. Its so intriguing to me to witness this. To be so moved.

There are a couple things that stand out for me about him, or at least about the Iowa and S.C speech. The way he refers to his wife as "the rock" of his life, of his family. yo...its so beautiful to me...and I cant help but be moved to see people of color on this platform...and for it to be so familiar yet so unfamiliar...

In speaking to fam and friends I also think its interesting that it seems like folks make a point to say..."Im not endorsing him because he is  black"...almost as if to validate their choice...of course our reason is because he is most qualified...but whats wrong with saying "yeah. he is qualified yet its something so familiar and for the first time I can identify with him because he is black, because he is a person of color"

we are only people, we are naturally inclined toward that which is familiar, to those things that seem more trust-worthy...and if we allow ourselves to be moved out of that trust...then we have the power to make some major changes....

what do you think?

more updates soon...

love and life...and peace

honestly i think he is inspirational..as a speaker and person. will he fix all the problems we have in 4 or 8 years? no. but he is the voice of change, he knows how to organize. as an organizer myself i can relate to alot of things he has said. does the fact that he is POC affect my decision? no, it just makes it sweeter. Obama/Richardson or edwards..we need people that know what its like to be us. Change is evident, change is life. Lets re-evolve together.
