Have You Met...

barack the vote

in the name of the Opener.

peace all.

I must say. Ive never been involved with politics and never truly believed that my vote could make a difference. I always considered the voting booth as choosing the lesser of two evils...

but recently...I watched the Iowa victory speach Obama gave and he had me with the first sentence...it was the strangest thing I ever felt when it came to politics....I had an emotional reaction to him...to his message...and to his graceful delivery of it.

The day following the speach we had a spontainious gathering of family and friends and of couse Obama became the topic of conversation. We realized as a group what we had realized the night before individually....That our generation...for the first time was begining to learn what it felt like for our parents to feel the attachment and the affection for important figures such as MLK or JFK...

Although this is just the begining...Im intrigued by the whole process and experience...

and Im sure I will be writing more on it...

peace

absolutely girl! Im with you on that one. I heard the speech on the radio inthe car that night and I got chills. He made me think of MLK, Kennedy and so many other influential leaders. Im looking forward to reading more. And if you get a chance you should check out my girl Thea Monyee on my mysapce page. She's been doing some work for his campaign, went to Vegas for the primary there and wrote some great blogs.
