Is Nothing Sacred?

I've pondered this question many times, especially before I met my boo, the first man I've been with who has well-defined morals and always keeps his word; so our relationship is sacred.
Having finally met the one who completes me and feeling fulfilled for the first time in love, I started going to church to give thanks.
One Sunday morning my boo and I decided to check out what all the Downtown LA Cathedral hype was about. I was disgusted by all the tourists who flocked to this McChurch and video taped the entire mass. I mean, WTF?
As if I couldn't be any more annoyed, the priest decided to take it upon himself to denounce same-sex marriage and all forms of birth control.
We couldn't take it anymore. There we were trying to center ourselves in a religious way and out comes this BS from a priest representing Catholicism as a whole.
We walked out defeated by the Catholic church. The man who protests outside the Cathedral every Sunday with a sign that reads "Phoney Maloney" suddenly made a lot more sense to me.
I mean, I know the Catholic church has a bad history, but I've never felt the actual effects of them before this particular Sunday.
I still go to church, just not that much, but stay away from that Cathedral. I started burning more incense lately to cleanse my space, my mind and my soul. Then I read an article in the LA Times that says incense has recently been discovered to be bad for your health.
Daaammmnnn! What's next?
