I talked to R&B crooner a couple of weeks back and the aside from schooling me on how to pick up a ‘Caribbean Girl' (see here), he also told me about his new album. The joint is called Out the Box and it basically is what the title suggests. R&B Latino cats don't have a good track record but most don't have the chops that Jean does. The brother is a dope musician and a music lover (it's a must) who is just a song away from blowing the F up.

On his upcoming album Out The Box:
"We just had a presentation with the label and it's pretty much done. It's getting mixed and mastered. The album is called Out the Box. The label let me do me. It's been a couple of years now since my last album and it was just like coming up with different ideas and trying to please everyone. It got to the point where I asked the label to trust me on this. I presented my work and everyone was like, "Wow! We should have done this a long time ago. Me being a Puerto Rican and doing the Latin as well as the Anglo thing but signed to the Latin label it's almost not the norm. As far as my type of music in the Latin community; the record has a lot of different styles. There's pop, R&B, funk, soul-so all that in the Latin community is definitely not in the box. We're definitely trying to get it out before the year."
