I was recently asked to do a feature on a big hip hop website, which would feature my music as well, but I would have to pay $20 which turned into $40. Not too long ago, I was asked by an hip hop OG, to get down on a compilation which would be distributed Nationally in major chains, but I would have to pay $2000 to get on. A few months later, I received another email from another legendary artist for a smililar project, $2000 and I get a beat and a spot on this dope compilation. To get on a record with these types of artists would be sick. DJ's sometimes hit me up as well with similar situation for their mixtapes where I have to pay.
Now for SiTV and illuminati2g.com, I hit up people from all over the world, in an effort
to bring about, increased access to information, movement, creativety. People
can dislike, diss, enjoy what I do, or whatever but I never charge people.
So to all of the above, I declined.Â
With the hip hop site, they might blacklist me for taking so long to answer then ultimately
declining but I apologized and expressed my appreciation for being interested in my music. Of course I want people to check out my message, etc but it seemed odd paying for the coverage. My money goes into creating videos, recording and pressing up CD's-but more importantly,my money is for my family. Our independent hustle is hardcore but most of all sincere.
This shit seems so lame when Sean Bill's killers are free, and the world is speaking of a food crisis.
