Not since Oprah came out publicly endorsing Barack Obama has there been a more influential endorsement made by a person of color... a person of power...
Some of my SiTV followers have asked me to fully come out of the political closet so here it is... November 4th, 2008, Ivan William Sanchez will be casting his vote for Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Hillary for President... 2008... There I said it!
I know a lot of things can happen between now and then. I might hit the lotto and instantly become a millionaire and a Republican overnight but the chances - last time I checked - were something like 75 million to 1. So the odds that things will change are not likely.
I've done my homework on both Obama and Clinton and I simply don't believe enough in Obama's past experience to allow myself to give him my vote simply because he is a person of color.
Obama has done some wonderful things in his community working as a community activist before realizing that true change must come all the way from the top. It's something I honestly learned my first two months of actively pursuing change right here in Virginia Beach.
It only took me 60 days to realize that most politicians love to hear themselves speak and throw empty promises like, "I'll call you," around to satisfy the onlookers.
Obama and I have a lot in common in regards to wanting to make a change from the top. And I hope to follow in his footsteps in the near future.
Personally I believe Obama will make a great President in 2016. Hopefully he'll work closely with Hillary and take the White House when I'm 42 years old.
I've been following Hillary for a while and there is so much I love about this woman it's not even funny...
She grew up middle class to a mother who had been abandoned by her own mother when she was young. She has a deep profound understanding that children truly are our future.
As cliché as it sounds... it's the reason I do "everything" I do in life. For my children and the innocent children of others who are not getting the care, love or education they need to realize they can accomplish anything they set their little minds to.
Hillary's 1995 book It Takes a Village, was a best seller which educated the reader that it is all of our responsibilities to help these children succeed. She donated more than a million dollars of the proceeds and literally put her money where her mouth was...
As first lady of this country she tirelessly fought for health care for all Americans. But was stonewalled by greedy politicians and congresspersons that align their beliefs with the payouts they receive from pharmaceutical companies.
She fought for the victims of 9/11, their families and the small businessman who lost it all. She fights for veteran's medical rights and the financial protection of their families and she's fought the global crisis of the HIV/AIDS crisis for many years.
I can write a small book about why I am throwing my weight behind Hillary... But the bottom line is I believe in her sincerity... I believe she cares... I believe she wants to change this country the same way I want to see this country changed...
I'm out of the closet people... Hillary for President 2008... And I don't care who has a problem with it... I'm voting with my heart and my head... I'm voting for Hillary Rodham Clinton!
Yeah, that's my little girl sitting in the cup... And when she gets out of the cup I want her to have a safe country to call home... And I want her to be President one day.
I'm sure her opponents will say... You're dad was so ghetto he didn't even buy your baby pictures... That's why they all say Zazzle across the front!
But she'll still win the Presidency and she'll thank Hillary for kicking open the door in 2008... Men, it's time for us to let the woman clean up our mess... like always!
Vote Hillary!

Hi Ivan. Thanks for writing this piece for Crash! It was really moving and you're a good writer -have some good points but I disagree with your conclusion.
I am not convinced Hilary Clinton can make the fundamental changes we need to ensure our future. Obama is brillant. His speech the other night on race blew everyone's mind. I believe he can rally the country together in ways that Hilary simply cannot, because of her history. The Clinton's had 8 good years with the economy but really didn't accomplish or fix much.
Hilary Clinton never fought for immigrants, was for NAFTA, didn't stand up for gays in the military, and goes along with most of the Republican foreign policies (like in Cuba, Iran, Israel, etc). To me, the Clinton democracy stands for the status quo and I'm looking for positive change.
I VOTE OBAMA!
Ashakeda,
I honestly woudn't ask her anything. I'd tell her to continue fighting for the rights of those with no voice... The youth! I'd tell her to find a way to bring our troops home without leaving Iraq in complete Khaos... I'd tell her to fight to ensure our country doesn't plunge into a recession and to bring back the medical care plan she had for America which ensures affordable coverage and care for all citizens of this country... Oh, I'd have a lot to say but I wouldn't be asking anything... I'd tell her we supported her and we trust her to do right by us and turn this country the hell around!

She has my vote! So if you had the opportunity to interview Hillary what would you ask her?
BTW, you little girl is so cute. A cup of sweetness!
Yup, me too.
