All the Power to the People: The History and Legacy of the Panther Party is an event that is being organized by the Redcat Theatre through the Disney Concert Hall. It is a 3 day series of film screenings, talks and more; centered around the Black Panther Movement.
Events begin today! From Jan 10th-12th.
The schedule for the weekend includes:
Thursday Jan 10th. 7:30pm
"Off the Pigs and Repression"
"The Murder of Fred Hampton" this film will be followed by a panel discussion with Fred Hampton Jr., Emory Douglas, and Dr Akinyele Umoja
Friday Jan 11th. 8:30pm
"Legacy of Torture: The War agains the Black Liberation Movement" this film will also be followed by a panel discussion including: Hank Jones, Ray Boudreaux, Richard Brown of SF8, attorney John Phillipsborn, activist/actor DAnny Glover. Moderated by Sam Durant.
Saturday Jan 12th. 5pm
"All Power to the People"
Saturday Jan 12th. 7:30pm
"Bastards of the Party" followed by pannel discussion with Cle Sloan, Greg Everett, Roland Freeman.
All screenings are $9 each. Students $7 and Cal Arts Students $4
