American Gangster starring Denzel Washington is due to come out this Friday November 2nd. The movie is a true story based on a drug lord. Denzel Washington is portraying this character in the movie.

What I find so appealing is the fact that Denzel Washington had the real man he was portraying on set most of the time, as he was filming, to be able to get information from. One thing I learned was that this old man, Lucas, and Denzel actually got along very well and respect each other.

Lucas admired Denzel for playing his part so well, and Denzel admires Lucas for his success and wits even though it wasn't for a good cause, only for crime. Denzel felt that Lucas was going to be successful in any career he chose.

As an actress I find it such an advantage and even an honor to meet the person who you are supposed to be portraying. Not even just meeting; but being able to talk to them day in and day out. Truely see what this man was all about and why he did the things he did. I think Denzel Washingtons part in this movie is going to be one of the best yet. Not only is he an amazing actor to begin with, he was able to really find a solid character through Lucas and in himself.

I cant wait to see the movie!!
