Hola!
It's the first weekend of the new year. Wow! this is fantastic thing because it's already 2008 and we have yet another opportunity to make some really big and great things happen.... I just loveeeee having a fresh start :) Although I have to honestly say that it has been quite a challenge getting back into the swing of things after a 2 week hiatus. However, at the end of the week it was definitely worth it. Friday's session with my mentor & vocal producer - Vera Tisheff (you will hear a lot about her in my life.. She is truly an amazing woman (EXTREMELY INTENSE)- A Genius at that with the love & knowledge of music beyond imaginable - however, it's like living in a full time telenovela (lol) I can never escape :P (I will go into further detail later on....)
Now back to my original point, we vocalized many different arpeggio exercises and at the end of session... I sang a Bellini aria "Qui la Voce" and for the first time in my professional career I was able to hit a clean & consistent - high E flat above high c.... WOW!!! this is a huge accomplishment guys.... I can't even begin to tell you how amazing it felt... That's a freakin high note - I'm talkin Mariah Carey on a good day baby - and the integration of my body and the sound just came out - It was euphoric :) As an artist I am always trying to perfect my craft and be the best. That is what I call experiencing complete FREEDOM. So needless to say, it was a really awesome session with minimal drama.
The rest of my weekend was really productive ..I worked at my previous job that I recently left (a few months ago) to occasionally fill in for the new cantor at the church I use to work at in Garfield, NJ. It was a little awkward leaving a place that was such a huge part of my childhood - basically every weekend I would commit to 4 masses, all holidays, funerals, wedding.. Etc.) I finally got the courage to leave my job (and any sense of financial stability and of course the lack of time to maintain my own rehearsals - I keep forgetting there's ONLY 24 hrs in a day) So basically, it was time to step my game up ALOT! Now I have the choice to go when they need me. It was too much work on top of my other obligations!!! Well anyways, this week I will be bringin YOU a sneak preview of my HOT new track.... it's firahhhhh! I am so lucky to have such a young and fabulous team of writers working with me!!!! YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME - FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART, TE AMO MUCHO MUCHO!!!!
Until next time -
It's yours truly-
Cindy
