Looking to feed your left-brain or just need some ideas on where to take that ONE when dinner & a movie just don't cut it anymore...
Well, the LACMA is having a new opening for their Transformation Phase I with new spaces and work from very influential artists. They will be having live entertainment for your listening pleasure with guest DJ's/ workshops/ and a very fun photo booth. This new transformation will be displaying work from one of my favorite artist Jean-Michel Basquiat along with Andy Warhol. Basquiat arrived onto the seen as a young homeless graffiti writer "Samo" in the early 80's of Brooklyn. Although active for just one decade, he is considered one of the best-known artists of his generation and received unprecedented international recognition. Unfortunately, he struggled to stay clean when his art lacked that early rawness and overdosed in 1988 at the age of 27. I highly recommend the movie "Basquiat" to become familiar with his life & struggles before heading over to view his work. Enjoy!

I caught the Lacma Basquiat show a couple years ago, and it was off the hook, grandmaster flash was on the wheels of steel and mad intellectual heads and witty bantar where the prerequisites... I definitely will be in attendace!
