I made myself watch “Denise Richards: It’s Complicated” and “Living Lohan” so that I could properly give you, my SíTV readers, a decent review of the reality hags.  But I thought in order to give an honest review I needed to give the ladies the benefit of a doubt and watch 2 shows. I watched the premieres and the second shows of Denise and Dina’s lives as they try to make it in this crazy world while juggling motherhood and the demands of Hollywood. 

I came away with two thoughts:  1. Denise isn’t as horrible as the press has made her out to be and 2. Dina is as crappy a mother and as much of a tool as I’ve always thought.  Why, you ask, did I come to these conclusions after just two viewing?  To be honest, I really only needed to watch the premiere episodes of each show to make up my mind about the ladies because within the first 5 minutes of watching Living Lohan I was already cursing at Dina.  I don’t like anything about this woman, except maybe that she loves her children.  But I’m not sure she is showing her love in the best way…going out to parties on the pretext of getting Ali’s name out to the public and leaving her 14 year old daughter, who has a MAD crush, alone in the bedroom with a 20 something year old guy who is desperately trying to sell his songs to the Lohans and is using them for all he can.  The woman stinks of stage mom and failed actress who is looking to live vicariously through her daughters. 

My feelings about Denise, on the other hand, did change after seeing her show.  She is funny, loooves animals and doesn’t show her children on the show very often.  The first episode has Denise buying a “boyfriend” for one of her pet pigs with a very funny segment on pig sex.  She also throws a barbeque for her father who has moved into her house since Denise’s mother died of cancer.  The blind date that she is forced to go on is pretty entertaining too because the guy seemed a little uhhh….gay.  I was thinking it and then in the next segment she asks her friend if he is.  Good stuff dammit!  Denise and her friend are looking at a website that lists the people she has supposedly dated and she goes down the list commenting on each guy.  Seems Denise has a penchant for dark haired men and has “been” (and I do mean in the biblical sense) with Richie Sambora and John Stamos with who she had “a GOOD time!” But she states that she did not have sex with Scott Baio, even though they went out on a few dates.  She ends with the pointed question, “I have a weakness for guys that have dark hair and are passionate in bed.  What’s wrong with that?”  Indeed, Denise, what is wrong with that? 

I can’t say that I will continue to watch Denise’s show regularly, although if there is nothing else on and I’m home I’ll probably tune in.  The Lohan debacle, on the other hand, will definitely not be on my TiVO list.  Dina is a hot mess and just needs to be put down like a lame race horse.  Everyone in her family would be better off without her.  Give Denise and her family of dogs, pigs and cute daughters a watch though.
