Have You Met...

The Whores are Hitting TV

This year I haven’t been watching as much TV as I normally do.  I’m not sure if there is one reason or a multitude.  I think it is because the quality of shows being produced has deteriorated, there are waaaay too many reality shows on TV and I’m just more into my Netflix movies than anything else.  I will admit that I have been sucked into several C level reality shows (grade levels of reality shows is another blog altogether) but there are 2 shows starting on Memorial Day that in my opinion are more like D level shows, mainly because of the women whose lives they are about.

The first show is “Living Lohan” and follows Dina Lohan as she tries to make a star out of Lindsay’s younger sister, Ali Lohan.  As we’ve seen from Lindsay’s antics in the last few years, Dina did a FANTASTIC job in raising Lindsay, so let’s hope she doesn’t repeat it with Ali.  Of course, Dina just released a statement last week that all of Lindsay’s issues have been her own problem because she was 21 and an adult when they occurred; therefore Lindsay needs to take responsibility for everything she did.  Hmm, I guess the fact that Lindsay had a shrewish stage mom who was more interested in being at the clubs with her daughter than being a “mom” had nothing to do with any of Lindsay’s problems?   Dina has always blamed everyone else for Lindsay’s problems, whether it was Lindsay’s father, or her friends or whomever.  Maybe Dina needs to take a good look in the mirror and accept a tiny bit of the blame for the way Lindsay turned out.

Dina is getting a second chance at being a good “momager” with Ali and is exploiting it to its fullest extent by turning the entire thing into a reality show.  And this is a perfect format because now Dina can be on camera too, which, let’s face it, is really all she has ever wanted.  And another mother is getting the chance to exploit her 2 daughters also but she gets the chance to do it while they are just toddlers so we may not get to see the horrible affects for 10 or 15 years.  This lovely piece of TV whoredom is none other than the ex-Charlie Sheen, Denise Richards.  The tagline for Denise’s show, "Denise Richards: It's Compliated" is “Denise lays it all on the line.  Follow the high-profile star as she navigates Hollywood, romance and motherhood after a tumultuous year in the tabloids.”  She has been claiming that the only reason she is doing the show is because she needs the money to take care of her children, but according to Sheen’s camp she gets $52,000 a month in child support plus the $60,000 she received for 2 years in alimony payments.  And there is also the $25 million she could end up making from Sheen’s “Two and a Half Men” series.  How much money does it really take to raise 2 little girls?  And what happened to her acting career?  I mean, she is no Meryl Streep, but there are always roles for women willing to take off their tops and god knows Denise doesn’t mind showing off her boobies (or stealing her best friends husband-oh, did I say that out loud?)

Basically I think both of these women are reprehensible in their own ways and are selling out their kids.  They are more concerned with being on TV in any fashion, even a crappy reality show, than how having cameras on their children might ultimately affect them.  Money seems to mean more than anything else.  It comes down to one thing-they are WHORES!  Yup, I said it and I won’t take it back.  And you know what the worst part of the whole thing is?  I’m probably going to watch at least one episode of each of these whore’s shows.  So what does that make me?
