I cannot stop talking about this movie! Written and directed by a chicana and mexicana (respectively) La Misma Luna is one of the most touching stories I have ever seen on film. I was lucky enough to catch it at a preview screening, and when I tell you I laughed 'til it hurt and cried my eyes out, I really mean it. It moved me so much; heck, even the grown men in the room shed some tears!

I have been telling everyone I can since that day a couple of weeks ago that they had to get out to support this beautiful film when it opened last week, and guess what...

IT BROKE A RECORD! La Misma Luna (or Under the Same Moon) recorded the highest-ever opening-weekend sales for a Spanish-language film in the United States! And the movie was only released in 266 theaters nationwide! I actually looked into the numbers, and it grossed more money per theater than any other film this weekend. That is so major!

So, now that I've informed you of how amazing this movie is, both in storyline and the wake-up call it is giving Hollywood, can you please do yourself a favor and go see this movie??? Take your mom; I promise she'll thank you. :-)
