Have You Met...

Aretha is supposedly ticked off by Beyonce. Drama!

So word is Aretha Franklin was a little peeved by the opening Ms. Beyonce gave at the Grammys on Sunday for Tina Turner.  In the much-talked-about "collab" between the two dancing divas, Beyonce did a spoken word shimmy-and-shake honoring the female legends of soul and R&B.  Of course she listed Aretha, duh, but the trip-up happened when she announced Tina as "the Queen."  Apparently Aretha was like "heeeellllloooooooo?  That's my title!" and let the press know, issuing this statement: "I am not sure of whose toes I may have stepped on or whose ego I may have bruised between the Grammy writers and Beyonce.  However, I dismissed it as a cheap shot for controversy."  Ouch.

Now, obviously Ms. Franklin deserves all the r-e-s-p-e-c-t in the world, pero come on.  Can't you two share the title?  I mean, Tina may not have the voice of Aretha, but the woman shakes that booty, moves those legs, rocks that hair and puts on a show that Ms. Franklin couldn't have dreamt of in her sleep.  I say they both be queens, dammit.  Pull a Solomon and cut the crown in half!

And of course in the middle is Beyonce, who I highly doubt wrote that on her own, stuck between her idols and getting her wrist slapped by one.  How much does that suck?

In case you missed the show, here's the little ditty that stirred up this catfight.  Can someone please get Beyonce a pair of pants?  At least a little skirt?  Something?

Titles, titles, titles... Everyone is always getting caught up in titles... Why don't they go by their names and let their work speak for itself? I'm cool sharing Ivan Sanchez with the artist who gets a higher google rating than me and the professional athlete and the model... Granted he's lucky I stopped modeling when I realized 5 ft, 5 inches wouldn't cut it otherwise we might have had this same beef...

One Love, Ivan Sanchez
