So why do young Latinos think that is better to be "cool" than "smart"? Why not be both? or better yet why not make being smart the new cool?

The schools I had a different "culture"--where the most popular peeps were in the advanced AP classes.

All I know is that working 30+ a week and studing -10 hours a week to have that nice suped up ride that all the ladies check out might be cool for the couple years in high school. BUT--there's a big BUT--I don't think the ladies will be clamouring for the front seat when you are 20+ working at the same place working more hours and all that you have to show for it is the car that now is the only thing you can afford.

Let just say--stay in school--you'll eventually get to upgrade the car--and if not--taking from Beyonce--the only thing that will be upgraded by the ladies is you!
