ALMA’S BIO
What do you get when you combine Spanish rock, Brazilian jazzy blues, with a unique Caribbean flair? You get a band that makes music that will touch your soul.
Alma, which literally translates to Soul in Spanish, is taking traditional Rock en Espanol and turning it upside down in an exciting way. With a loyal following in Southern California, and a massive fan base over the Internet, Alma is destroying Spanish rock stereotypes and is definitely here to stay.
Consisting of four tried and tested music veterans, Alma has a stable core and all four members gladly take their turns in steering this musical juggernaut.
The backbone of any band is the drummer, but Armando takes that meaning and runs with it. Just by listening to 10 seconds of any Alma song, you quickly realize that Armando doesn't play the drums; the drums are an extension of himself and his beating heart.
Gabe is known as the professor of percussion. His ability to lace every single song with a unique and ethnic Caribbean touch is simply an education in what music is supposed to sound like without boundaries.
Quetzal is undoubtedly one of the reasons that Alma is destroying stereotypes in the Spanish rock scene. Hailing from Brazil, Quetzal uses his conventional background to make unconventional sounds and melodies. He blesses every track with a hard, edgy, yet soft and soothing guitar. Just when you think that his musical talents are abundant, Quetzal pulls out a violin and mesmerizes your musical palette with a sound that is so diverse and breathtaking. He brings such a Jazzy and Bluesy flavor to the party that is like no other.
The front man of Alma is Adaamick. His voice can be described with simply one word; Amazing. Having been seasoned by been the force behind some major acts in today’s musical world, Adaamick knows the ins and outs of how to deliver whenever called upon. His ability to translate lyrics into reality is a gift in itself. Adaamick is, without doubt, the real deal.
Alma is transforming Rock En Espanol and rewriting the book on what Spanish rock is going to be for times to come. Every song comes from the heart, comes from the mind, but more than anything, comes from the Alma.
